![<br />To my friends Alex and Gabi Johnson, who reside in Switzerland: "
I'm wondering if I might pick yours and Gabi's brains?? I recently received a copy of an album of photographs
that belonged to my Grandfather's sister, Alice. My cousin Ruth, who sent the album shared a question about a location in the Swiss
Alps which is the backdrop for photographs of 'Aunt Alice' and her son Walter. The photographs were taken shortly after WW2.
Alice and Walter were liberated from Biberach camp near the Swiss border, following a journey from Bergen‐Belsen. We have been
speculating about the location of the photographs, as there's nobody left who would know for sure. I realise it's a slim chance
but might you have any idea where the pictures might have been taken? All the best, Malachy.<br />
<br />
Hi Malachy. The majority of feedbacks think the photo was taken in Hausstock, in the canton of Glarus. "Hausstock near Elm. Location
could be from Chnollen or Gamperdun.<br />
Ernst Gehrig: From another colleague<br />
[21:19, 06⁄03⁄2023] Ernst Gehrig: Hausstock fits well, picture could have been snapped in Braunwald??<br />
[21:19, 06⁄03⁄2023] Ernst Gehrig: Already 3 bets on Hausstock."<br />
<br />
Many thanks Alex, Gabi and Ernst! The last residence of Alice and Herbert before leaving Switzerland for New York was Braunwald, Glarus,
Switzerland. I'll share the info with my cousin Ruth (Alice's grandaughter). Looks like the Hausstock location is favourite.
